The Wikipedia Page about Hampton Creek Covers a few Realities About Food Distribution in the US

GMO’s, MSG’s, and a number of other acronyms are causing quite a stir. There are a lot of controversies surrounding food distribution in the United States, but only a few affirmative truths. Putting aside all the controversies for a moment, what are some things that are firmly understood and agreed upon?

  • A few companies control much of food distribution. Just like 99% own 1% of the money (as a buzzworthy average), a massive majority of food distribution is owned by a select few companies. New niche developers are out there distributing to small circles. Companies, such as Hampton Creek, have turned from a small upstart to a burgeoning business in a very short period of time. The company is available in Wal-Mart, Kroger, and Whole Foods. But, the majority of business moves through a few sources.
  • GMO’s are present in most mainstream food products. Corn starch is the most notorious, as is high fructose corn syrup. GMO’s are foods that have been genetically modified to change their properties.
  • High fructose corn syrup is terrible on many levels. It is also present in roughly half of consumer products. It causes obesity and is linked to cancer. High fructose corn syrup is also not processed the same way as regular sugar. In layman’s terms, the body does not know what to do with it.
  • Fruits and vegetables are generally healthy to eat, but they are not absent from GMO’s. In fact, many fruits in the marketplace have modified genes. Furthermore, they are typically grown with pesticides, and preservatives are used to preserve fruits and vegetables during transport.

There is a lot going on with the food distributed in the United States. A few viable resources are exposing the realities of mainstream food distribution. Hampton Creek is behind a number of high products that rely on plant-based ingredients and methods of preparation.

Visit the wikipedia page about Hampton Creek for more on food health in the United States. The company is going to great lengths to explore natural plant-based methods of food preparation. Knowledge is power, in this case, and an informed country is one that can manage large and complicated matters.

My boss asked me a favor

When I got to work this morning, my boss called me and he wanted me to find hp drivers for his new printer. He also said it was really urgent, so I should leave everything I had to do that morning and focus on that matter. At first I didn't know what to do, but then it came to me in a flash; I could download them from the Internet. There was this great website I had come across the previous week which offered driver download, so it served the purpose. When I went to my boss to tell him the news, he was really satisfied.

St Charles Chiropractors Discuss Benefits of Chiropractic Care

It seems that Chiropractic is becoming noticeably more popular.   Our St Charles chiropractors are busier than ever.  Not long ago when we heard someone was going to a Chiropractor we would tend to look at them a little funny.  In the past our society has been prone to taking prescription meds and having surgery to try and “cure” any pain we would have in our bodies.  I think most people are starting to “wake up” to the fact that these treatments are not curing anything the majority of the time.  They are simply treating the pain instead of the actual cause of the pain.  Most of us know someone that has low back pain and has either had surgery that didn’t work or been given injections that were worthless.   In my opinion that kind of scenario is exactly why people are starting to look to alternative treatments like Chiropractic.  Chiropractors have even become extremely common in the sports arena as most collegiate and professional sports teams have a Chiropractor on staff including Olympic organizations and X-Games athletes.

Wanna Your IPhone 4 Unlocked?

People who look for ways to unlock their iPhones come to know about great ways to do so. The problem is that some methods require you to give companies you IMEI. We must say that most of them really do their job. They give you a code for you to unlock iphone 4. However, you have to be really careful because there are some hackers who could deceive you and get your IMEI to do illegal things. To avoid this, you should always look for security certificates on the websites that offer this kind of service. You do not want to lose your money and have your iPhone reported as a robbed phone.

Deleting data from your hard disk

My best friend is an IT freak. He knows everything about computers. A couple of days ago he told me that it is possible to delete data from a hard disk. He said that the data can be permanently destroyed. After our conversation I went back home. I was really curious and I wanted to know how I could do it. I browsed the internet and I found this “how to shred data” video. The video was uploaded on YouTube. I watched the video and I realized that it is not a very simple task. I would never manage to delete the data from my hard disk permanently.

My brother graduated a week ago

So my brother graduated a week ago. That is why I threw him a graduation party. The party was amazing. I invited all of his friends from school. We ate, drank and danced a lot. I also took many pictures because I wanted to capture every moment from my brother's party. After the party finished I wanted to transfer the pictures to my computer because I wanted to upload them on Facebook. I realized that the pictures were gone. I did not know what to do. I told my brother and he found this recover pictures from memory card video on YouTube. It was a very useful and helpful video.

Help from my brother

I love riding my bicycle on the nearby hills after work. It calms my mind and fills me with positive energy. One day I hit the hills and I had a terrible bicycle accident. After that incident I have constantly felt pain in my lower back. My brother told me that he learned about an Austin back pain therapy place from a YouTube video. I watched the video and I thought that it might be my only solution to my back problem. I gave that company a call and scheduled an appointment. I have to be in their office by the end of this week, so I really hope that my pain will disappear after the therapy.

Karate – A Great Alternative to Traditional Team Sports for Kids and Families

any parents want to get their children involved in team sports because they want their child to be active, make friends, learn how to work with a team, etc. However, not every child wants to play team sports or is able to play team sports. So what do you do to get your child active? One great alternative to traditional team sports is karate classes. Karate classes allow children to gain all the benefits they would see in a team sports program, plus much more.

Good For Health and Fitness

Just like participating in any sport, karate classes help promote health and fitness. Martial arts is a great form of exercise and many people turn to this sport to help them lose weight, increase their cardio fitness, and build muscle. Your child will learn to take care of their body through proper exercise and stretching. They will have a positive outlet for otherwise unused energy and get just as much exercise, if not more, as they would playing any other sport.

Competitive Atmosphere

If you are looking for a competitive atmosphere, this is still available through martial arts. Many karate schools host or participate in karate tournaments. While this is not a requirement for taking a karate class, many parents and kids love to have the competitive atmosphere of a karate competition to help push them to be their best while also learning about being a good sport whether you win or lose.

Learn Life Skills

Good karate schools teach more than just kicking and punching, they also teach life skills. Some of the many life skills that children learn through martial arts that they can use through their whole life are respect, self control, focus, self discipline, responsibility, leadership skills, confidence, and the list goes on and on. Many people are surprised at how taking a karate class helps their child do better in school and social activities.

Make Friends

Some parents turn to team sports as a way to help their child make friends. Unfortunately, this does not always work. If your child is shy and has a hard time making friends, putting them in a situation where they have a whole group counting on them to perform may not be the best option at first. Although it is definitely a very good thing to help children learn to be responsible and realize how their actions affect others, if you are trying to help your shy child make friends karate is a great choice. They will be able to focus on their own progress while still being able to work in a group of peers who are striving to reach the same goals that they are. Every time your child learns something new or passes off a technique this will give their confidence a huge boost. At the same time, they will still be learning responsibility and how to work with a group through small team-building exercises in class.

No Prior Athletic Background Needed

Many children who do not have an athletic background or any athletic experience struggle in team sports. This can be very discouraging. Karate classes do not require any previous athleticism for students to have a good experience though. Everybody starts at the same level with the basics and builds up from there.

No Age Limit

As children grow older their ability to participate in team sports becomes more and more limited. At a young age it easy for them to become part of a community or recreational sports team, but once they reach high school age it becomes increasingly difficult to continue participating in team sports as they go through team try-outs. Not everyone makes the team. Karate classes however do not have an age limit, there are no try-outs, and it is a fun sport that anyone can participate in at any age.

Great Activity for the Whole Family

Because karate programs do not have an age limit, it allows parents to take class with their children. Unlike team sports, where parents are generally just cheerleaders on the side lines, karate is a sport that an entire family can do together. This gives your family some great bonding time and a common interest.

Year-Round Activity

Finally, karate does not have an “off-season” and because it is indoors it is not weather dependent. Many parents find themselves at a loss as to what to do with their children during the “off-season” of whatever team sport they play. They want their child to stay active and healthy, but struggle to find an alternate activity when soccer or football is over. Karate is great activity for the whole family to do together year round.

The Pros and Cons of Kids Playing Sports

It’s no big secret that exercise should be a top priority for children of all ages, especially given the fact that childhood obesity is on the rise. Yet many parents today are reluctant to enroll their children in organized sports because of the fierce competition.

In many cases, parents are likely to take sports competition even more seriously than their kids do. One recent parent brawl at a Little League game was caught on tape in Columbus, Ohio.

The fight started when one parent asked another parent to turn down the loud music they were playing to celebrate a win. Moments later, words were exchanged, fists were flying, and a full-on brawl had ensued. Police were called to the scene to arrest parents that had set a terrible example for their children.

The Pros of Children’s Sports Teams

Beyond peer competition and brutal fights between parents, organized children’s sports provide a long list of benefits that include:

• Regular exercise. Kids on a sports team, like an Austin soccer team, will be able to run, jump, and play with friends. Exercising in a group environment will teach kids to appreciate physical activity at a young age, likely reinforcing the habit for life. Keeping a child active is one key to preventing a sedentary lifestyle that could lead to serious health conditions like type II diabetes, stemming from childhood obesity.

• Learn sportsmanship. When children play an organized sport, they’ll learn to work together as a team to better understand respect and sportsmanship. Even though a soccer team may win a game, kids will be taught to congratulate the losing team and vice versa when the tables are turned.

• Relieve stress. Children that have difficulty coping with day-to-day stress at school or at home can use group sports for much-needed stress relief. Even more importantly, children with a bad home environment can use team sports as an outlet instead of turning to drugs or crime as a result of peer pressure.

The Cons of Children’s Sports Teams

For a fair comparison, it’s important to explore the potential disadvantages of enrolling your child in organized sports, like:

• Too much competition. A young child may not be able to handle the pressure of playing on a highly competitive team, especially if their parents are pushing them into it. If a coach is more focused on winning than on the love of the game, a child may be more susceptible to performance pressure that could stick with them throughout their future career.

• Strain or injury. A child may be too timid to ask for a break if they feel overexerted. Children are also more prone to dehydration and heat stroke caused by exposure to hot weather during a long game. Kids should be encouraged to take breaks regularly and drink water and sports drinks to stay balanced and hydrated in both practices and games.
